Here's some great news for North American Black Sabbath fans: The heavy metal mavens have announced a 2014 spring tour that will see the band trek across Canada and as well as play shows in a couple of major U.S. cities.  The trek gets under way March 31 in New York City at Brooklyn's Barclays Center and is mapped out through an April 26 concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

In between, Sabbath will visit many of Canada's biggest cities, including Halifax, Quebec City, Montreal, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Calgary and Edmonton.  The shows will be among the last performances the band is planning to schedule in support of its 2013 studio album, the chart-topping 13.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on November 22, while Live Nation is offering a special presale opportunity that will allow select fans to buy tickets two days earlier.

Next up for Sabbath is a European tour leg that kicks off this Wednesday in Helsinki, Finland, and winds down December 22 in their hometown of Birmingham, England.  The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers also have plotted out another European outing in June 2014.

As previously reported, Black Sabbath will release a new concert video and album titled Live…Gathered in Their Masses on November 26.  The release, which will be available in various DVD, Blu-ray and CD packages, features footage from a pair of shows that the band played this past spring in Melbourne, Australia.
