The University of Arkansas at Hope-Texarkana is offering an opportunity to help a student in need participate in the upcoming ACT Prep workshop.

A contribution of only $15.00 can provide a student with a scholarship to attend one session of the workshop or $30.00 can send a student to both sessions.  Scholarships can also be designated to students from specific schools.
Schools participating in the workshop include:

Arkansas High
Blevins
Cornerstone Christian Academy
Fouke
Garrett Memorial Christian
Genoa Central
Hope
Lafayette County
Nevada
Prescott
Spring Hill
Taylor
Trinity Christian School

The workshops are for high school seniors and will be held on Saturday, November 12, and Saturday, December 3, 2016, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the UofA Hope campus. The cost of each workshop is $15 per Saturday or $5 per Saturday for students who qualify.  “The December ACT is typically the last chance a high school senior has to get his or her score up before scholarship applications are due. This workshop will focus on both skill review and test-taking strategies to help students raise their scores, since a couple of points can mean the difference of hundreds or even thousands of scholarship dollars,” according to Ashli Dykes, UAHT Concurrent Credit Coordinator.
The workshops will offer focused, discipline-specific skills in all four ACT areas: Reading, English, Math, and Science. Students can choose to attend one or both Saturdays and may take Reading/English on one Saturday and Math/Science on the other Saturday.  An additional ACT Prep workshop for 8-11th graders will be held in early summer, prior to the June ACT.
If you are interested in funding a student, please contact Jill Bobo at 870-722-8516 or send checks payable to the UofA Hope-Texarkana Foundation, 2500 S. Main, Hope, AR, 71801, with the notation “ACT Prep scholarship.”
