Every day you have a decision to make: whether to be happy or not. Happiness really is a choice. If you choose to see the glass half full it is.

Therefore as parents we have the responsibility to show our children how to be happy. One of the ways to do this is to “help them identify what they can be thankful for” says Janet Taylor, a New York City psychiatrist, in an interview with Family Circle Magazine.

When we help our children see the glass half full instead of empty, we teach them how to increase their own optimism and self worth. Let’s take a moment each day to express thankfulness to those closest to us and see them blossom as human beings.
