Recycle time in Texarkana Arkansas.

The monthly Texarkana, Ark., recycling event, Green Texarkana, will be held Saturday. Green Texarkana operates from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at E. Third and Hazel streets. This provides an opportunity to recycle plastic, cardboard, paper and steel and aluminum cans. Household electronics such as TVs, computers, radios, printers and DVD players will also be accepted.

Items that cannot be accepted include glass, Styrofoam and similar materials, furniture, tires, carpet and hazardous materials including paint and pesticides.

In addition to Green Texarkana, the City will also open its new recycling facility on Monday. The Texarkana, Ark., Recycling Center is located at 2601 Dudley St., on the City Shop property. Items accepted at the recycling center include colored and opaque plastic bottles, clear plastic bottles, all paper types, cardboard, aluminum cans, steel cans, plastic grocery bags and ink and toner cartridges. All items must be separated.

The recycling center is open to anyone, regardless of residency. For more information on either recycling program call 870-779-4946 or visit the City’s webpage, www.arkansas.txkusa.org/departments/recycling or Facebook page, www.facebook.com/TexarkanaArkansasRecycling.
