Grief is a difficult emotion to understand and experience especially for children and teens.This Friday June 16 from 10AM to 2PM it's Good Grief Day at the Richmond Road Baptist Church located at 5805 Richmond Road in Texarkana, Texas. 

For the past 17 years Hospice of Texarkana has been helping kids understand and cope with grief. Whether the grief is from a death, divorce or even from a parent serving in the military.

This free event but you will need to make a reservation for your child. there will be activities to teach kids ages 7 to 15 years of age to express their grief in healthy ways. According to their Facebook page, kids can also show grief because of an incarcerated parent or even moving to a new school. Activities will include Pet Therapy with the therapy dog Maggie Grace and Cosmo the owl. They will also create a memory square and have a balloon release.

There will be licensed counselors on hand and lunch will be provided by Chick-Fil-A.
