The community is invited to get involved and come to the garden for the commissioning service of the third season of planting, what better way to go green on St. Patrick's day than wearing your green in the Texarkana Downtown Community Garden.

I first got a chance to visit the Garden in downtown Texarkana last year, and flashed back to childhood days of picking okra with my Granny. I was fascinated by the project.

The commissioning service is scheduled for Monday March 17 at 5:00 p.m. at the garden located at 4th and Laurel Street in downtown Texarkana. Volunteers will be working in the garden on Saturday March 15 getting ready for the commissioning service celebrating the third planting season in the community garden. If you are interested in volunteering and being a part of this great project stop by the garden this Saturday March 15, or get more information at the project's Facebook Page.
