If you, like most of us, live in a capitalist society and are sometimes distracted from an action movie by the thought of how much it must have cost to clean up after that car chase or that oil drum explosion, you’re not alone. A couple folks took it upon themselves to estimate exactly how much damage the Fast & Furious Family has accrued over the last seven movies, and the final tally might make you a little squeamish.

Two guys over at insurance website Insurethegap.com totaled the amount of money all the stunts and explosions and crashes would have cost Dom Toretto and his buddies in the real world: just under $420 million. The most expensive car they totaled? Furious 7’s Lykan Hypersport by W Motors, valued at $2,772,489. They also made a series of graphs detailing various trends in the amount of damage accrued through the series (spoiler alert: it goes up) and how much and what kinds of damage — cosmetic car damage, serious car damage, “special” car damage, and overall destruction of property — was caused by which characters.

While Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham), the villain of Furious 7, racked up the most damage of the series — $148,786,000 — it’s actually our heroes who have caused the most overall. If the Fast Fam is so destructive, and only getting more so by the movie, can we even call them heroes? Really makes you think.

If you just can’t get enough of things being mashed to pieces at high speeds, The Fate of the Furious hits theaters April 14.
