Hamburger Cookout Fundraiser at Gander Mountain starting at 3:00 pm benefiting Tanel 360 Gold Softball Club. Hamburgers, chips and a drink for $5.00. These softball girls are raising funds to go to college showcase tournaments where they can be seen by college softball coaches. This helps them receive softball scholarships to college. Blood drive at LifeShare Blood Centers from 8AM to 4PM at 1321 College Drive. Donors automatically entered to win a special prize for Father’s Day. We are asking that you come give blood in honor of your dad or a dad you know. Prizes: tackle box with lures, one night stay at the Marriott Courtyard and a 4-man round of golf to New Haven Golf Course. All donors will also receive a T-shirt for donating. Saturday, June 18:
The Texarkana Animal League is hosting a pet adoption event this Saturday from 11AM to 4PM at Petsmart in Texarkana, Texas. Several local rescues will be there as well with dogs ranging from Chihuahuas to German Shepherds. To find out more about the animals that will be at the event be sure to check out the websites for Arklatex Cocker Rescue, BoxAR Rescue, Jeff Tarpley Rescue, Muttley Crew Rescue, Passion for Pooches and Texarkana Animal League. All dogs are already spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. There are also cats and kittens available for adoption in TAL’s cat adoption center inside Petsmart. Animal Adoption Event, 10AM to 2PM at Hope Animal Shelter (just outside Hope Fair Park). Adoption fees are only $10. Anonymous donor is paying for all of the adopted animals to be spayed or neutered. Benefit for Doris Hancock at Fat Jack’s on Stateline Avenue from 1PM to 6PM. Live music, 50/50 drawing, bike show, a poker run and a live auction. Come out and support a good cause: Doris and her husband were in a motorcycle accident that has left her with a long road to recovery and no insurance. Admission is $10.00. Everyone is welcome.
