For people that don’t have pets it may be difficult to understand, but we love our dog, Cletus D. Wonderbeagle, as much as any member of the family.  He’s been my best good friend for 12 years.  Sure, he’s gotten a little older in the eyes, and doesn’t jump as high as he used to, and now he pretty much only runs when he chases squirrels…(just shorter distances).  I understand how the circle works, and I am ready, but I just don’t want him to be in any pain.

We heard from our vet Dr. Stacey, and Ben Hendershott at Pleasant Grove Animal Hospital the other day about the new Class IV Laser Therapy that was now available, and that Cletus would be a great candidate for this non-invasive treatment that helps to relieve pain from arthritis, hip dysplasia, lick granulomas, irritated skin from allergies, ear infections, sore backs, after surgery and many other symptoms. Cletus don’t have a lot of patience, so it’s a bonus that a treatment only lasts approximately 5-10 minutes.

Cletus got the first of 6 treatments today, and we can already see an improvement.  His back legs have been “shakey” these past few months whenever he stands still, but this evening he was at his food and water bowls and his legs didn’t shake at all.  He jumped up in his recliner… that’s right, he has his own recliner.  He has been actually been acting kind of “puppyish” all night, and that’s good to see.

We are definitely going to continue the treatments, and I will do my best to keep you updated on his progress…
