Looking for a little advice about manhood, gents? Duff McKagan's got you covered.

The former (and occasionally current) Guns N' Roses bassist has announced a May 12 publication date for his new book 'How to Be a Man (and Other Illusions),' inspired by a column he produced as part of his duties as a contributor to the Seattle Weekly.

"It was kind of tongue-in-cheek; it was really tongue-in-cheek, and I got a book deal from that column," explained McKagan. "It's a how-to guide of things I've learned about life -- being a dad, being a husband and being in a rock band. And it's, like, a city guide in it, but a very tongue-in-cheek city guide; like, how I see cities. It's got all kinds of stuff. And other stories. And hopefully it's gonna be a funny book."

McKagan, who remains a member of the on-hiatus Velvet Revolver and has been tabbed as part of the Mad Season reunion, has amassed an impressive list of bylines over the years, penning columns about a wide variety of subjects for outlets including Playboy and ESPN. 'How to Be a Man,' which is available for pre-order now, follows his 2012 autobiography, 'It's So Easy: And Other Lies.'
