Whether you want to create a jack-o-lantern or simply dress your yard with autumn color, pumpkins and other gourdes are great ways to inexpensively give your home some festive flair.

But where should Texarkana residents go to get that ‘great pumpkin’ that Charlie Brown always talked about? Don’t waste time shopping around. Simply use our handy list below and you’re sure to find the pumpkin of your dreams at one of our local patches or garden centers.

  • Williams Memorial United Methodist Church

Located at 4000 Moores Lane in Texarkana, the Pumpkin Patch at Williams Memorial will be open between Oct. 14 – 31. They have pumpkins of all sizes, whether you want to decorate your table or your front stoop.

Also, be sure not to miss the ultimate pumpkin party at Pumpkin Palooza on Oct. 28, which features games, candy, costume contests, treats, music, and of course… pumpkins!

  • Ellis Home & Garden

Located at 3920 Summerhill Road, Ellis features all kinds of autumnal gourdes, whether you need to purchase them by the bag or separately. Prices vary.

  • H&N Landscaping and Nursery

Located at 5708 Richmond Road, you simply won’t be able to resist the plethora of pumpkins on display in the midst of Pleasant Grove. When you pull in the drive at H&N, the pumpkins rise up to meet you everywhere you look, and if this doesn’t put you in the mood for fall, we don’t know what will!

  • Dixiemaze Farms

Feel like taking a drive? Visit the pumpkin patch at Dixiemaze Farms located at 6596 Sentell Road in Shreveport. This is the only “live on the vine” pumpkin patch that we know of anywhere around, and the farm is a fun place to take your family because not only can you pick a pumpkin to take home, but you can also try to conquer the corn maze, ride a zip line, take a hay ride or ride a pony.
