Mike Hossack, longtime drummer for the Doobie Brothers passed away at his home in Wyoming on Monday with his family at his side.

Hossack first joined the Doobies back in 1971 and played on most of the band's biggest tunes including "China Grove", "Long Train Runnin'", and what I always thought was one of the greatest "sing-along" songs of all time, "Black Water".

Big Mike to his friends is survived by a son, Mike Jr. and his daughter Eric Rose Oliver.

The Doobie Brothers website had a statement posted that read,

Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family and loved ones. We will miss him greatly.
