Don’t Drink and Drive This Holiday Season

Law Enforcement have increased their patrols to watch for drunken drivers through Tuesday January 1st.In Texas, State Troopers are out in force targeting DWI suspects funded through a grant from the Texas Department of Transportation. During the same time period last year, troopers made more than 1,100 DWI arrests, and about one third of those were credited to increased patrols.

DPS also issued more than 15,000 speeding citations during the same time period. AAA has projected that 7.7 million Texans will be traveling from Saturday through January 1st and most of them will be driving.

Please drive carefully, drive the speed limit, buckle up, make sure children are in proper safety seats and never drive and drink.
