We were on our way to Dallas on Saturday for the NASCAR Race at Texas Motor Speedway, and had seen a lot of FB posts, and texts about all of the construction between Texarkana and the track. What we realized when we got on the road was that the wind was crazy strong, blowing diesel truck trailers around... was scary even. So I was worried about all of the diesel trucks, Well, just outside of New Boston we came across this horrible accident that had East bound traffic shut-down for hours...

Turns out that there were a number of trucks involved in a few different accidents all between the 196, and 192 mile markers on Saturday.

It started at about 4:30am Saturday morning when a truck hauling sheet metal was passing a fertilizer truck, and blew a front tire, clipping the empty fertilizer truck and causing the first accident that cut East Bound I-30 down to one lane.

Around 10am Saturday, with traffic down to one lane and crawling, there was a UPS truck that had stopped, and along came a big rig driven by Fadil Ademi from Grand Rapids Michigan and slammed into the back of the UPS truck, scattering packages and debris all over the roadway, and ripping the cab off of Fadil's  truck, leaving the rest of the rig to continue rolling on into the trees. Fadil was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the cab killing him instantly, according to the DPS.

The two people in the UPS truck suffered non-life threatening injuries, but were real shaken up, and they were taken to St. Michael's  Hospital in Texarkana.
