Your mom was usually right about everything, but a new study found that cracking your knuckles won't lead to arthritis! Unfortunately, it still does annoy people, oh well :)

Which really made me start thing about things my mom or my older brothers and sister told me when I was a kid that were big ol' wives' tales. I'm the youngest of six kids so yes I got a lot of them!

The cracking your knuckles was my mom's, but it was one of my sisters that first grabbed my hand and cracked my knuckles. Hence, now a life long habit, much to my husband's annoyance.

Other things I was told by my brothers and sisters? Sit to close to the T.V. and you'll get big ol' T.V. eyes! Oh now that's creepy! My sister also told me not to get up in the middle of the night because my stuffed animals come alive and play on the floor. If they saw me they wouldn't like me any more. :(

All this explains a lot about me!

Is there a tall tale that you were told as a kid to make you behave or to stop a bad habit?
