Wow! This is big! Texas Governor Greg Abbott sent a letter today to the Texas Rangers baseball organization declining the invitation to throw out the first pitch at their home opening game. Abbott stated how he really feels about the MLB's stance on Georgia's new election laws and how he wishes the team the best but will no longer be a part of any event held by Major League Baseball.

Harvest Regional Food Bank has announced it will host its Inaugural Drive Out Hunger Golf Tournament Fundraiser Monday, May 17 at Northridge Country Club in Texarkana. Participants will enjoy a day of fun on the green to help fight food insecurity in Southwest Arkansas and Northeast Texas.

The Texas A&M University-Texarkana Athletic Department has announced the attendance policy for spring sports at university venues. Because spring sports are played outdoors with a greater ability to follow social distancing protocols the department will allow spectators at competitions.
