This past weekend Caddo Area Council/Troop 3 of the Boys Scouts of America had a little camp out. No big jamboree or anything like that, just a "basics" camp out to show several new scouts how to work as a team, cook and clean up after themselves. Oh, and do something to spruce up the signage at the Miller County Gun Range at Smith Park.
This summer the West Nile Virus is back with a vengeance in Texas. It’s all over the news and the Mayor of Dallas has declared a state of emergency in the city. There have been 700 cases of the virus across the country with 25 percent of them in the Dallas area.
Millions of people suffer from high blood pressure. It’s estimated that 1 in 3 adults in the U.S. have it. Could there be a cure in our near future? The University of Pennsylvania is testing a new procedure that is helping people with high blood pressure when medications fail them.
We are a society obsessed with losing weight, but I think some people are going too far! I know losing weight is tough! The dieting, the exercising, only to get on the scale and say, “What? I did all that for three pounds!” It can be very discouraging, especially that last 5 to 10 pounds.
