Best in Texarkana

It's no secret that I love to eat, but I also enjoy cooking a great deal. However, most of my cooking is BBQ, and I cook with a big pit-smoker. I do watch a lot of those shows on the food network, and I am a big fan of Gordon Ramsey's cooking shows, especially "Master Chef". I like that one in particular, because it's everyday folks like you and me.

This last weekend was one of the best "Sparks In The Park" EVER! There was so much for everyone to do... Car Show, Bounce Houses, Climbing Wall, Face Painting, Fun & Games, all of that "fair food", and some fantastic live music on the amphitheater stage, then Texarkana's BEST Fireworks Show!

We had a group meeting the other day to discuss topics we could blog on, and I volunteered for The Top 5 Public swimming facilities in town. I thought, this will be cool. Maybe I could swim at a couple of local places. Maybe take some photos or video. Problem is, Texarkana does NOT have any public swimming pools!

I was tasked with coming up with a list of things, that might make some sense to folks that are from these parts...  See? Even "from these parts", may be a simple term, that sets our neck of the woods apart from people that live in other parts of this big ol' world.

Today was the first annual "Railfest" in downtown Texarkana. Me, and my buddy Fish entered the BBQ Rib Cookoff. We have won some awards with our cooking in the past, including the Blues and BBQ Festival a few years ago, but we didn't win this one. I think.
