There he is, on the road again. Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band are off and running on their 2013 US tour. The tour got off to a good start last night (Feb. 27)  in Toledo, Ohio. Seger and band pulled out hit after hit, with the usual suspects like 'Night Moves' and 'Turn The Page' as well as deeper catalog numbers like 'Beautiful Loser' and 'Ramblin' Gamblin' Man' gracing the two-hour show.

The big surprise, however, was a brand new composition the audience was treated to. 'All The Roads,' a mid-tempo acoustic guitar driven tune, was premiered to warm reception. The video is embedded below. Seger also included a take on the Woody Guthrie song 'California Stars' from the Billy Bragg/Wilco 'Mermaid Avenue' album of lost Guthrie material. "I heard this song on the radio just once, and said, 'I've got to record that song,'" Seger told the crowd. Perhaps both these will end up on the album he is currently working on.

The evening began with a cover of John Hiatt's 'Detroit Made,' and included a few numbers not played in concert for years such as 'Like A Rock' which, after years of being linked to an auto ad, can now be returned home to Seger. The tour continues on through mid-April.
