Whoever said the best things take time might have had a premonition about the fall concert tour pairing of Bob Dylan and Mark Knopfler.

Vintage Vinyl News reports that after early reports about the pair teaming up for a summer run proved unfounded, the two acts have now worked out their schedules to play together this fall.

Dylan, who just announced plans for a new album called ‘Tempest,’ revealed the fall dates via his website, with the trek launching Oct. 5 in Winnipeg and staying north of the border for six shows before dipping into the U.S. Oct. 13 in Seattle. The trek will run right up to Thanksgiving, with the final date of the run scheduled for Nov. 21 in Brooklyn.

Knopfler, best known for his work with Dire Straits, will soon issue his solo set ‘Privateering’ as an import via Amazon.
