LifeShare Blood Center is hosting a blood drive at Texas High School in Texarkana, Texas.

LifeShare is having a blood drive September 9th 2014  from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Texas High School, 4001 Summerhill Rd., Texarkana, TX. LifeShare Blood Centers is pleased to announce its 2013 – 2014 LifeScholars program.

The plan is designed to honor students who demonstrate community service and leadership by becoming regular blood donors. Every school has the opportunity to earn a scholarship for its students, regardless of school size or athletic classification. The community can offer its support to Texas High School by participating in the blood drives.  “As emerging adults learning about the responsibilities of grown-up life, high school students have the opportunity to practice the highest form of philanthropy - giving the Gift of Life,” says Karen Siefert, Donor Recruiter for LifeShare Blood Centers.

About 1 in 7 people entering a hospital need blood. One blood donation, approximately one pint of blood, can save up to three lives. Every donation has the potential to save someone’s life.
