Metallica has been slowly crafting their follow-up to 2008’s Death Magnetic, and bassist Robert Trujillo says that he has a good feeling about what they’ve written so far.

“The ideas that I have been hearing and have been a part of, to me are very, very exciting and I see us making a great album,” he tells South Africa's AllAfrica.com. “I feel in my heart that we are going to do something special. Beyond this, I have no idea what is going to happen 'cause, right now, it feels great and we are gonna do that, but the next album, we'll see.”

Trujillo also gave an update on the progress of the group’s upcoming 3D concert film, Through the Never, which will premiere exclusively at every IMAX theater across North America for a full week starting September 27. “I've seen a recent cut and we have a lot of work to do, we're not finished, but we're getting close and I feel that the end result will be special,” he reveals. “I believe it's going to be great.”
