The world of comics fans who also love larger-than-life horror rock acts from the 1970s (so everyone who read Kiss: Psycho Circus) was abuzz Thursday upon news of a new Dynamite Entertainment Alice Cooper comic series by writer Joe Harris (The X-Files), artist Eman Casallos (The Ninjettes) and cover artist David Mack (Kabuki).
Dynamite's description of the new series, which launches in September, touts it as the story of Cooper's secret role as "The Lord of Nightmares." He's apparently been locked out of his kingdom by a usurper and is struggling to regain his title. That sounds pretty cool, but does it really encompass all that is Alice Cooper? We don't think so. Here are some other aspects of Cooper we hope to see in the comic's pages.
We all know that Marvel Studios has its movies planned out through 2028 (not an exaggeration, a real date 14 years in the future), but what about DC Entertainment? All we've heard so far is a set date for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (May 2016, pushed back from summer 2015) and some nebulous stuff about a Justice League movie, a Justice League Dark movie and some other projects.
Well, according to entertainment reporter Nikki Finke's website, things may get a whole lot clearer at Comic-Con International in San Diego. Finke has was she says is DC and Warner Bros.' movie schedule (though "a lot is in flux") through May 2018.
Charles Schulz's much beloved, long-running comic strip Peanuts is coming to theaters in a new, all CGI film in November 2015, and fans got their first look Tuesday via a few images and a 60-second teaser from Blue Sky Studios.
From the looks of it, fans should probably feel pretty encouraged. Not only do the movie characters look a whole heck of a lot like Schulz's comic designs (or at least 3D versions thereof), but the teaser indicates that the unforgettable Vince Guaraldi music that accompanied Peanuts TV specials for decades will be used. Check out the teaser and images after the jump!
