The list of August 2016 new music releases includes fresh sounds from a pair of bands moving on after big membership changes. There's also new solo music from one of rock's most distinctive vocalists, and several archival and live sets that offer new insight into old favorites.

Dead Daisies return with Make Some Noise, despite a lineup shuffle due to the Guns N' Roses reunion tour. Guitarist Doug Aldrich took over for the Daisies' (and now GNR's) Richard Fortus and joins David Lowy and John Corabi (Motley Crue), who collaborated with producer Marti Frederiksen. The new 12-song album includes 10 originals and covers of songs by the Who and Creedence Clearwater Revival.

Blackfoot know all about personnel shifts. In fact, Southern Native finds an all-new group working under the tutelage of co-founder Rickey Medlocke, now lead guitarist with Lynyrd Skynyrd. He recruited lead guitarist and singer Tim Rossi, guitarist and singer Rick Krasowski, bassist Brian Carpenter and drummer Matt Anastasi in 2012 to carry Blackfoot forward.

Ann Wilson will release her second recent solo EP away from Heart. Titled Focus, it includes two original co-writes with guitarist Craig Bartok, as well as covers of Peter Gabriel and Jimi Hendrix songs. Elsewhere, fans can check out the earliest recordings by Beach Boys, as the two-disc Becoming the Beach Boys set collects embryonic takes on favorites like "Surfin'," "Surfin' Safari" and "Surfer Girl." Kiss' latest concert film, Kiss Rocks Vegas, is also arriving in audio and home-video formats after its theatrical run.
