A Taste of The Test-Tube Burger? ‘Close to Meat’ [POLL]
Earlier this week the first test tube burger was unveiled in London to kinda “eeh” reviews.
According to Reuters:
The world’s first laboratory-grown beef burger was flipped out of a petri dish and into a frying pan on Monday, with food tasters declaring it tasted “close to meat”.
Grown in-vitro from cattle stem cells at a cost of 250,000 euros ($332,000), the burger was cooked and eaten in front of television cameras to gain the greatest media coverage for the culmination of a five-year science experiment.
I’ve seen some experts predict that the test tube hamburger meat will be in stores within 20 years. Hmm, I don’t think I’ll be buying into that one! I mean, really how weird! Meat from a petri dish? Yuck! Of course, you never know now do you?
Jump 100 years into the future, our children’s children’s children might be saying ” Wow can you believe they actually used to kill animals for meat? How Barbaric! That’s so Caveman!”
But, we are in the here and now! So, what do you think? Would you eat meat made in a petri dish?
