It's time for the 28th Annual Christmas Parade in downtown Texarkana, and the first with the new route... and we have a map for you to get the best spot to see it all.

I remember being a little kid, and my dad taking his pick-up truck down to Broad Street early in the day for a good spot for us to see Santa Claus bringing up the rear of the parade.  There won't be much seen on Broad Street this year, as the new route will be in effect.

The parade is scheduled for Monday December 3rd with a theme of "The Spirit of Giving".  Main Street Texarkana will be collecting canned goods for "Harvest Texarkana, and United States Marines will be stationed along the parade route collecting new, unwrapped toys for "Toys for Tots". You can also drop your donations off at the Front Street Festival Plaza, and at the Post Office.

Here is the map for the Parade.  The staging area for floats and participants will be the same, but instead of making a straight shot up Broad Street, the parade will immediately make a left turn onto Front Street, and continue on until making a right hand turn up Olive Street. The parade will then make a left on Broad to Main street where the parade will make a right hand turn, then turn right again, this time onto W. 3rd Street. Then make a left hand turn up Stateline Avenue towards the Downtown Post Office.
